Name: William "Will" Turner II
Age: Vaguely 25
Gender: Male
Allegiance: Becoming pretty Pirate-y
Occupation :Will was a Blacksmith's Apprentice until his life was shaken up by one Captain Jack Sparrow. He is currently the Captain of the Flying Dutchman.
Weapon of Choice: William worked with a sword for three hours a day, every day, for most of his adolescent and some of his adult life, so he's pretty comfortable with the sword.
Home Town/Island: He lived in England until he was twelve.
Ship: Flying Dutchman
Appearance:
Rather Handsome.
At about six feet tall, Will Turner is in no way considered short. He has shoulder-length, wavy, dark hair and nicely tanned skin. William also has trademark round, caring brown eyes.
There is also a rather new, long scar going down his chest, where his heart was carved out so he could become the captain of the Flying Dutchman.
Personality:
He is, in short, an honorable and very romantic man.
Even though William was considered 'lower class' for most of his life, he is kind, caring, and a true gentleman. Will is very eager and dependable. Just about the polar opposite of Jack Sparrow.
Even though he's toughened up some with the pirates, his soft, romantic side is still there and showing.
History:
Will is the only known child of William 'Bootstrap Bill' Turner. His father was not present in his childhood and William thought that his father was a merchant sailor.
He lived in England until he was twelve years old when he came to the Caribbean to search for his father after his mother died.
His ship was attacked by the Black Pearl and he was the sole survivor. He was found, floating on a chunk of driftwood by Elizabeth Swann, also on her way to the Caribbean. Will was pulled aboard and placed in Miss Swann's care.
They went to Port Royal where Will became a Blacksmith's apprentice. Over the years, Will and Elizabeth's friendship blossomed.
Years later, he was bested by pirate Jack Sparrow in a sword fight, though the pirate was knocked out by Will's drunken master and arrested.
Though later that night Port Royal was attacked by the Black Pearl and Elizabeth was taken. Will then realized that Jack was the only one who could help save her.
Will, though very against piracy, helped Jack to steal a ship from the Royal Navy, then sailed to Tortuga to find a crew and finally to Isla De Muerta to save Elizabeth.
After getting frustrated with Jack, Will knocked him out with a longboat oar and saved Elizabeth by himself.
Reluctant to leave without their savvy captain, Jack's crew eventually sailed away, only to be followed and overtaken by the Black Pearl, and in a fight, Will traded himself in order to free Elizabeth.
He was taken to the Isla De Muerta, where Jack, Elizabeth, and Jack's crew came to rescue him. He lifted the curse and Jack killed Barbossa, however, Jack was caught by the Royal Navy.
On the day of Jack's hanging, however, Will helped Jack escape and he and Elizabeth had what both of them thought would be a 'Happy Ending'. With Jack around? No way..
On the day of their wedding William and Elizabeth were arrested and Beckett asked for Will's help in retrieving Jack's compass.
Hoping to get Elizabeth out of jail, Will found the Black Pearl on a cannibal-infested island. With the help of Pintel and Ragetti, Will, Jack, and the crew escaped the island.
Jack was willing to give William the compass if Will helped him find a key. The crew then sailed to see Tia Dalma, who seemed to take a special interest in Will, saying he had a 'touch of destiny' about him.
They then find out that the key was aboard the Flying Dutchman, and Will was bargained into service aboard the ship by Jack.
On the Flying Dutchman, Will met his father, Bill Turner, who happened to also be in service to Davy Jones.
In a game of Liar's Dice, Will saw where the key is while Bootstrap was put into an eternity of service. However, later that night, William stole the key, escaped, and promised to set free his father.
He was picked up by a passing ship, though it was soon taken down by the Kraken, and he stowed away on the Flying Dutchman, which was headed to where Davy Jones' heart was buried.
When they got there, Will found Jack, Norrington, and Elizabeth. He tried to stab the heart of Davy Jones but ended up getting in a massive sword fight with Norrington and Jack.
Will, Jack, Elizabeth, and the crew escaped, only to be followed by the Kraken, which wanted to take down Jack. The crew realized that they need to abandon ship and while Will was getting into the long boat, he witnessed a kiss between Elizabeth and Jack.
The Kraken took down the Pearl, and Jack with it.
The crew went to see Tia Dalma again and they were reunited with Barbossa, who was to lead them to World's End to save Jack.
The Black Pearl then headed to Singapore, where Will was supposed to steal the charts that would lead to the end of the world. Will was caught and made a deal with Sao Feng, Pirate Lord of Singapore, Jack Sparrow for the Black Pearl, the ship Will needed to free his father.
When the Royal Navy attacked, Sao Feng covered the crew's escape as they headed for the end of the world.
After rescuing Jack, Will approached Elizabeth about their relationship, believing she was in love with Jack. They then said that they could not have a relationship if they didn't trust each other.
Will's bargain was double-crossed and Jack locked him in the brig, though he escaped and tried to lead Beckett to the Brethren Court. Jack found him though, and threw him overboard with a dead body roped to a barrel, and his compass.
He is then reunited with Elizabeth and the rest of the crew after an exchange between the Pirates and Beckett and Jones, Jack for Will.
They then prepared for a battle against the armada and go into a Maelstrom whilst fighting the Flying Dutchman. Amid the battle, Will proposes to Elizabeth and they have Barbossa marry them right there in the middle of the chaos. Oh so romantic.
So much for a honeymoon..
While trying to aid Elizabeth after she is overtaken by Davy Jones, Will is stabbed and mortally wounded by the very blade he had made for Norrington in Port Royal.
Jack, after he finally decided to be the good guy, helped Will to stab Jones' heart, making William captain of the Flying Dutchman.
The crew then carved out his heart and the Flying Dutchman joined the pirates in their fight.
Will was given one day to be with Elizabeth before he had to leave for ten years. He gave her his heart in the chest, saying that it 'had always been' hers, and she promised to keep it safe.
He got back aboard the Flying Dutchman and disappeared.
Which lead to where he currently was, aboard the Flying Dutchman, ferrying souls for ten years.
Other: Sorry.. That was REALLY long.
Roleplay Sample:
William Turner was deep in thought.
His deep, caring eyes were staring down, and his head seemed to hang in defeat. Will's dark hair fell around his tanned face as he rested his chin in his palm. Will's eyes seemed perfectly entranced with the deck of the ship until he heard a long sigh let out behind him.
He turned, just in time to see his father's worried face disappear and he turned back, fingering in his rough hands the sleeve of his dark shirt, his thumb and forefinger rubbed together monotonously, his face once again returning to it's concentrated state.
Life was more difficult these days. Will was not used to being captain of a ship, especially not a ship with duties that needed to be fulfilled, though the crew was helping him with that. Mostly it was Elizabeth, and how much he missed her.
The world had seemed to stop spinning after that last day when he parted with her. Hours seemed to last weeks and days seemed to last lifetimes.
He was just trying to take life one second at a time, though forever looking forward when the time would come that he could be with Elizabeth again.
Will had finally gotten to be with her forever, but then they were ripped apart.
