Hiya, I'm just some little lurker interested in joining this loverly site, but I have a few questions:
1. May we join as a real life pirate such as Blackbeard, Henry Morgan, or 'Calico' Jack Rackman? 2. Are we allowed to join as more than one character, or do we have to make a new account or something for that? 3. I noticed the board for crew recruiting and does one have to apply to get a ship or can we just go there and say "Hey y'all, wanna join my fantabulously lovely ship and sail the ocean blue? -wink, wink nudge, nudge- " 4. Is there a set plot for the whole site or do we just do our thing?
I think that's all I've got. Oh wait... This is sort of an irrelevant question, but are you the same person who made the House/Scrubs site 'Toxic Dependence?' I stumbled upon that awhile ago and I thought that was a very cool site. Scrubs and House are very cool. =D
Anyways, yeah, that's it. =D

Well, Wicked will have to answer those questions... but I have two things to say: 1) It's Jack Rackham... and he's pretty much awesome. Even though he didn't do much as a pirate. 2) Well, if your character does need a crew... he can join Abram's.

xD I thought there was an 'h' in there somewhere, but I didn't know where. He's by far my favorite pirate EVER. <3 I was hoping of joining as him and another pirate guy.

Heh. I have a roleplay character that's Jack Rackham's brother. But I use him on Neoboards, not here, cause ya know, I'm Captain Jack Sparrow. I don't need to be anyone else.
Anyway, for number 4: I think you can just do your thing.
And yes, I believe Wicked made Toxic Dependence.

I did a roleplay once where Jack Sparrow and Calico Jack were fighting over the Fountain of Youth and who was the 'real' Jack, because well, there can only be one person named Jack. At least, according to my Jack. It was weird, but fun. xD
That's really cool. I'd love to be able to make websites like this and Toxic Dependence, but alas, I have no skills. xD

I hope this isn't spamming, posting twice in a row, but I've just been looking around and I think I already like this place a whole bunch. It has Barbossabeth undertones. =D Very cool.

Ah, sorry I wasn't here to answer these promptly. I was at a rehearsal <3.
My priorities -must- be screwy.
1. I have no qualms about having 'real life' pirates in this little PotC-verse. They do use Davy Jones, after all, and he is a true to life legend. Even if they don't technically fit in the real to life chronology, they're more than welcome here! As long as you can make them work, I'd be happy to entertain them. ^^
Though, it's interesting, because Captain Teague is based on Blackbeard quite directly, while The Black Pearl flies the flag of Calico Jack. -shifty eyes-
2. You can play more than one character on one account. The display name you use will just be your 'main' character, and the others secondary to them. When I get more people who are interested in having more than one character, I will create a board (like on Toxic Dependence) where you can 'store' and keep track of your characters... and others can reference them, so they don't get confused. Haha.
3. I was planning on having people list their ships, and adding a board (a sticky topic) into the Crew Recruitment area that allows made ups to join any of the Captain'd ships there listed. But people have difficulties following the few directions I've already set up, so adding another one MIGHT just kill someone.
-shifty eyes-
4. We're working on a plot right now! But you can do whatever you want. I'll be sure to work anything you do come up with into the plot, once it's established. ^^ I'm just... really lazy and easily distracted.
I hope I've answered your questions well enough. Is it obvious I've just come from speaking in Shakespearean language for seven hours? Sometimes it mixes my words up and I don't notice. Hahah. Tell me if it's not coherent.
I am the same person that made Toxic Dependence. ^^
Haha, the 'Barbossabeth' might be unintentional. I'm glad you like it, though. ^^

It's cool. If I'm not intruding too much upon your privacy, may I ask what the rehearsal was for?
I didn't know that about Teague, or Jack. That's very cool. =D
So no more ships then? Okay, that's cool. =D
Yeah, I checked out the plot a little earlier. You guys were trying to figure out some stuff, like Will's curse. I just wanted to add that I think at some point the writers said that if your true love is waiting for you after ten years then you're free to go ashore and a new captain is found, but I don't know if that helps or doesn't fit at all. Just random geeky tidbit/rumor(?) I've heard.
Hey, Shakespearean talk is cool. =D The world would be a far better place if we could all just go around talking in long beautiful speeches like Mercutio or Hamlet. Of course, that would probably make for some complicated phone bills. xD
Toxic Dependence is a very cool site. =D
And thanks everybody for taking the time to answer my questions. =D

I've heard some of the production staff say that Elizabeth being loyal to Will for those ten years is what frees him, specifically. Not that it was a general rule for the curse. But since this board takes place only a short time after the third movie, that can't really come into play, anyway. ^^;
Er. The rehearsals are for 'Taming of the Shrew' and 'Comedy of Errors'. <3
Ah, I hope you go ahead and join, then, now that your questions are answered. ^^

Oh cool! Taming of the Shrew is fun. =D
I will eventually join, but I have to fix up my characters a bit before I'd feel comfortable roleplaying 'em. Just 'cause. xD
